One day, a rhinoceros runs through the street. Soon, many townspeople start turning into rhinoceroses too. Some deny it, some accept it, and some are afraid, leading to chaos. Bérenger, the main character, sees her friends, neighbors, and the man she loves change one by one. Pressured by society and the desire for power, they give in. In the end, scared and alone, Bérenger chooses to resist, even if she is the last one left.
The stand in the show was built with a base covered in pleated plaid fabric. There were two handles on the sides of the tabletop, and the surface tilts forward so the audience can get a better view of the “food” displayed on it.
